Tour of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
TBA per person
Considered a landmark piece of 21st century architecture and design, The Bilbao Guggenheim Museum is simply awe- inspiring. The museum opened its doors to the public in October 1997, building on the success of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in New York.
Since then, it has become the leading attraction in Baskland, a mecca for visitors from around the globe.
Over the last few years, people of all walks of life have been making their way en masse to Bilbao with the main goal of visiting the Museum. Kandinsky, Picasso, Kooning, Rothko, Chillida, etc., are just some of the artists whose work is housed in the largest European art collection of our time; a collection which boasts examples of all the visual art genres Western culture has produced over the 20th and 21st centuries.
The work of Canadian Frank O. Gehry, the building is a fantastic ship-like structure made of stone, titanium and glass. Truly a work of art in its own right, this example of contemporary architecture is a must see.
